Birthday Wings

December 13, 2016

One of my best friends turned 28 yesterday. His birthday reminded me of the Wingfest he threw last year to celebrate his birth. Those wings turned out AMAZING, if I do say so myself.  Traditionally when I make wings, I usually go for sauces rather than rubs, so I wasn't 100% sure I would like these. I didn't like them. I LOVED them! Have fun and make sure to experiment with the amount of seasoning you are putting on the wings. Between me and my taste testers (thanks, roommate and co-workers!) this batch was long gone. I used Red Thai Curry and Spicy Thai Coconut from my Well Seasoned Table stash, but there are dozens of options when using WST. Try new combinations and let me know what works!

 Thai Red Curry Rub Ingredients:

2 tablespoons WST Thai Red Curry

2 teaspoons garlic powder

olive oil

 Spicy Thai Coconut Rub Ingredients:

2 teaspoons WST Spicy Thai Coconut Sea Salt

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons thyme

olive oil

To make the wings:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Decide how you will be seasoning the wings. If you are doing two different
spice blends (the best way to go!) separate your wings into two bowls. Drizzle
each with olive oil and toss to cover.
Sprinkle seasoning mixes over wings and toss to cover evenly. Add more/less
seasoning to get your desired coverage.
Place in baking dish or on broiler pan (the best option for crispier wings) and
place in oven for 55-65 mins.
Turn 2-3 times throughout time in oven (I usually do halfway through and
then with 10 mins left)
Remove from oven and enjoy!
